Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday: start of Lent. What are you doing? I’m going to try to follow the Love Life Live Lent booklet.
I’m also going to keep an eye on the Tearfund Carbon Fast - and I know at least two friends are following this - and I hope they’ll share their experiences here.

I'm ahead for a change!! I'm encouraging the young people in Wyred and those on the confirmation course to have a go at at lest one action from the booklets each week. On sunday evening we each wrote our names on separate pieces of paper and then wrote encouraging things on everybody else's sheets, its actually quite hard, but lovely when you get back the responses from everyone else on your own paper. we also had pancakes... note to the wise, pancake mixture not cleared up immediately turns to cement on worktops!
Well, the removal of one light bulb caused much debate in our household! Anyone from the OH Committee will tell you that the lighting in our house is almost medieval due to the low energy bulbs everywhere - this meant torches and candles being lit at the end of one meeting....! Anyway the decision was to remove the main bedroom light bulb for the period of lent - it would've been far too easy to take one from a bedroom that isn't used.
